Dr. Chris Henry
Dr. Chris Henry established the NOSS Collaborative in 2007. He received his doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin where he was the project lead for adapting the Line Operation Safety Audit (LOSA) to ATM operations – an endeavor which was undertaken at the request of ICAO. Dr. Henry served on the ICAO NOSS Study Group and assisted in authoring the Threat and Error Management in Air Traffic Control Circular (314) and the NOSS Manual (Document 9910).
Dr. Henry assisted ANSPs in conducting early NOSS field trials, and as those trials proved successful and NOSS was adopted as an aspect of their SMS ANSPs expressed interest in further support of their NOSS efforts, so the NOSS Collaborative was born. The NOSS Collaborative’s primary objective is to aide ANSPs in NOSS implementation, as well as educating the industry about NOSS, TEM and what has been learned from NOSS observations from around the world.
